“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say…” (Luke 11: 1-2a, NIV)

I sometimes get asked the question, “If God already knows what we need then why should we pray?”

Think about this for a second – with any relationship communication is so important.  If you want to grow closer to someone then you spend time talking and sharing with that person.  With that said, should we expect anything different then from our relationship with God?

You see, you can’t text, you can’t email, you can’t call or even send a letter to God, but you can pray when you need or want to talk to God.

Jesus modeled, taught and challenged his followers to pray.

So, if we want to draw closer to God, then may we pray.
