“How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." (Matthew 7:4-5, NIV)

I often hear people complaining about the world around them, yet when I think about what are they or are we doing to make a difference in this world.  You see it is easy to complain, but what is hard is stepping out and making changes and the first step in any real changes in life begins with you.

I love the old Michael Jackson, “Man in the mirror,” as the lyrics seem to address this issue. Remember the words?

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

So if you desire a change in the world around you, then let the first step in that change begin with you.
