“He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way." (Luke 19:3-4, NIV)

One of my favorite Bible stories as a kid was Zacchaeus  - this image of a grown man running down a street and climbing a tree all so he could see Jesus.

I share this because I wonder to what lengths will we go to see or meet Jesus?  Will we spend time in study or worship or serving – all for the purpose of seeing, meeting or being -- getting to know Jesus?

Now while I am not challenging us to all climb trees, I am challenging us as we begin this new  year to honestly answer these questions because I want us to all get to know Jesus a little bit better.
