“In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage.” (Matthew 12: 1-2)

January 3, 2019

This Sunday the 6th is Epiphany and at the heart of Epiphany we remember these wisemen or magi from the East and their diligent search for a king that had been born. Of course, when we read on in Matthew, we find that their search led them to Jesus.

It reminds me of a bumper sticker that used to read wisemen still seek or to make it more accurate – wise people still seek Jesus.

You see I do know what you are spending your time and energy on…I don’t know what you are searching for in life – but the wisest thing you can search for is to seek to know Jesus.

So Happy New Year and in this year do something wise – seek to know Jesus.
