“Be still, and know that I am God…” (Psalm 46:10a)

November 8, 2018

I don’t know about you but I have a problem just being still. For example, I have been recently challenged by my spiritual coach to go spend 2-3 hours just sitting on a mountain by myself – to be still - in order to get in touch with the creator God.

Well, the first time I tried this I made it only 15 minutes, and the second time I made it just 30 minutes – both far short of the requested 2-3 hours and all because I just couldn’t be still. My mind would wander to all that was going on in my life to the point that instead of being still and drawing closer to God – to listening to God – I was caught listening to the noise going on in my head.

So, I challenge us all – myself included – to take time to just be still (And yes I will make eventually make the requested 2-3 hours); but let us take time to be still and listen to what God has to say to us.

God is speaking, so let us take time to listen.
