And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3: 17b-20)
What are we filled with? In a few minutes my Honda will be filled up with 9 gallons of gas, but what are we filled with?
Are we filled with God or something else – you know – things like anger, jealousy, pride, resentment, racism, prejudice or hate. Do these things fill our lives or does God?
I love how the Apostle Paul in his letter to the church of Ephesus challenges his readers to consider being filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Think about this for a second – if we are filled with the fullness of God- if we are filled or full then there is no room for anything else. There is then no room for those things that are against the very nature of God.
So I invite you consider getting full – be made full as you reflect on the love of God that God has for YOU!
